2. Connecting to SQL Server Using SSMS

on

  1.  Select Server Type as Database Engine  



  2. Select PC name in server name eg. MYPC/SQL_SERVER and browse for more if you don't see the name of your PC                                                                                                                                                        
  3. Select Authentication type. If we have chosen mixed mode authentication during installation you will have both windows Authentication and SQL server Authentication. If you select SQL Server Authentication you need to enter username and password else you don't.                                           


  4. Click on connect and you will see the following screen
